L'Tanya Durante · Jan 5, 2022 · Leave a Comment

COVID-19 pandemic-related job layoffs and closings reported in the 2021 Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Report have begun to slow, as compared to last year. However, we will continue to update the number of employees affected by changes in their employment status.

The North Carolina map below is a graphic representation of where these layoffs and closings are occurring. Clicking on each point on the map opens a pop-up that identifies information about each business, including its name, address, and number of affected employees.

Note: Updated January 5, 2022

Summary by county

The charts below show (1) the number of layoff events per county, and (2) the number of workers laid off per county.

It’s important to note that since not all businesses are required to file a WARN notice to report their changing status, these records do not reflect all of the layoffs and closures in North Carolina.
